In 1930 the Boy Scouts of America launched a home- and neighborhood-centered program for
boys 9 to 11 years of age. A key element of the program is an emphasis on caring, nurturing
relationships between boys and their parents, adult leaders, and friends.
Cub Scouting is a program of organized activities
for boys between the ages of 6 and 13, and in grades 1 through 5.
Cub Scouting is fun with a purpose, because there is a reason for everything boys do
in Cub Scouting. Apart from the fun and excitement, the aim of Cub Scouting
is to help boys grow into good citizens who are strong in character and
personally fit.
Cub Scouting has ten purposes:
Character Development
Spiritual Growth
Good Citizenship
Sportsmanship and Fitness
Family Understanding
Respectful Relationships
Personal Achievement
Friendly Service
Fun and Adventure
Preparation for Boy Scouts
Pack 142 is commited to promote continued participation in the Scouting
program by providing an exciting adventure that will inspire our Cub Scouts
and Webelos to cross the bridge to Boy Scouting.
